Iran’s Majid Majidi to hold masterclass at Amity festival

Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi is to hold masterclass at the Int’l Red Crescent Amity Short Film Festival in Turkey.

Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi has been set to hold a masterclass at the underway edition of the International Red Crescent Amity Short Film Festival in Turkey.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Iranian director will give a masterclass as part of the 4th edition of the event on Saturday.

The masterclass would provide cinephiles with an opportunity to listen to Majidi’s experience and to discuss Iranian cinema with the acclaimed director.

His feature ‘Sun Children’, which managed to grab two awards at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in Italy, will be screened at the Turkish festival on Friday.

Majidi won several awards for his prestigious films. His 1997 family drama flick ‘Children of Heaven’ was the first Iranian film to be nominated for an Oscar.

Earlier reports said Iranian short films ‘White Clad’ and ‘Branded’ are competing at the International Amity Short Film Festival.

The 4th International Red Crescent Amity Short Film Festival will run until December 5.
